The whole scam library lives inside the app, on the phone. That is why Pehra answers instantly in a lift, on a train, or in a village with one bar of signal — and why nothing you check has to be sent to anybody.
The check
Four ways to ask "is this safe?"
A message
Copy the SMS or WhatsApp text and paste it in. Hindi, English, or the mix most people actually write in.
A phone call
Tell the app what the caller said, in your own voice. Useful for elderly users who would rather talk than type.
A link
Pehra reads the address itself — the look-alike domain, the shortened link, the app-store page that is not what it claims.

A verdict you can argue with.
A number on its own convinces nobody — least of all a frightened person who has already been told a story. So Pehra always shows the three signals it matched, in plain words, so you can see the reasoning and explain it to somebody else.

Sir I am calling from the CBI cyber cell. A parcel in your name contains illegal items. Stay on video call. Do not tell anyone or you will be arrested.
- No Indian investigating agency conducts an arrest over a video call.
- "Do not tell anyone" exists only to keep you away from someone who would stop you.
- Real notices arrive on paper, through your local station, with a case number you can verify.

- Sent from a registered sender ID, not a personal mobile number.
- It asks you to telephone, not to tap a link or share an OTP.
- No deadline and no threat. Real alerts do not rush you.
Pehra never shows a confidence above 96%. A guard who claims certainty he does not have is the same problem as no guard at all.

One screen, large text: this is a known script, you are not in trouble, and nobody is coming to arrest you.
It asks one question
Are you on a call right now? If yes, the only instruction on the screen is to put the phone down. Everything else waits.
It brings a real person in
One tap calls the family member you saved in advance. Isolation is how these scripts work, so breaking it is the fastest way out.
It dials 1930 for you

Honest limits
What Pehra cannot do.
Every security app in this market overstates itself. We would rather you trusted the parts that are real.
It cannot listen in on a call
No app can tap a WhatsApp or phone call to detect a cloned voice. Instead Pehra gives you a family safe word — the one thing a fake voice can never know.
It cannot block another app
No app may switch off another app's camera, downloads or your home wifi. Pehra instead walks you through the protections your phone already has and most people never switch on.
It cannot recover money by itself
Only your bank and the police can do that. Pehra makes sure your complaint is written correctly and filed fast, which is what actually decides the outcome.
It cannot read your messages for you
By design. You choose what to check. An app with permission to read everything is one breach away from being the problem.
